Work-at-home-Wholesaler
or Dropshipper
Depending
on the individual, deciding which product sourcing method
can form either the basis of your work at home business...or
compliment an already established supplier catalogue. Variables
such as time, space, logistical capabilities and financial
ability will determine whether you utilize a Wholesale
or Dropship supplier.
WHOLESALERS
are
very simply warehousing facilities that hold large product
catalogues in stock...you buy in bulk at less than RRP to allow
for your profit margin. Finding the right wholesaler can take
up a lot of time and resources and when you do find one, often
the prices are not acceptable. You will need to have enough
capital to purchase your stock before you sell it, you will
need space to store it, a means of packaging and despatch and
most importantly...a positive niche that you are sure the products
can sell at a profit.

"If you are working from home then don't forget
the basics. Can your building accommodate the delivery of
a large pallet (s) of stock? Utilizing companies such as
UPS, FedEx, DHL or local Mail...are you able to despatch
in a timely, effective and costly manner? These are but a
few considerations you need to factor in to your business
plan." |
DROPSHIPPERS
share
many similarities to wholesalers. They both hold large stocks
of product, they both sell at less then RRP...but they differ
in one very specific manner. Dropshippers will deliver a
product to any given address in plain (or your brand) packaging
for a small fee direct from their warehouse. This has many
benefits to the work at home entrenpreneur. You only order
your item once you have sold it, you have no logistic chain
to consider and no inventory or up-front cost. You are effectively
acting as an agent to sell another companies products. With
a little experience and hard work...many individuals have
been able to profit from this business model.
| "Leaving you to concentrate on business, Dropshippers
have opened up a void for the inspired work at home executive.
The profit margins are not as great as with Wholesale, but
you carry far less financial and practical risk. BEWARE
of spoof dropshippers cashing in on this home based business,
do your research and walk away if you feel uncomfortable
with a company at any time..." |
 |
As with
any business, there is always an element of risk...after all,
if it were easy everyone would be doing it! Stick to well established
Wholesalers and Dropshippers with proffessional assets and
customer service. There are master sites such as ESources or
Alibaba who offer catalogue's of 1000's of approved companies
to deal with...they charge a small members fee but this will
be
far
less than testing each company individually.
